Swimming lessons

Trinity Swimming Pool

All lessons are taught by qualified and experienced teachers.

The pool is almost infinitely adjustable with 1-6 lanes and up to 6 width-ropes across the pool, meaning that different abilities and group sizes can work together at the same time. The pool is equipped with equipment and aids necessary for younger swimming tuition such as tummy-bands and noodles. For more information on any of the lessons we provide at Trinity Arts & Leisure please browse the sections below…

Friday development squad

Please note: These sessions are currently not running whilst we plan how to safely run these; more information about these lessons will be announced in the coming weeks.

Friday development squad continues on from the School of Fish swimming lessons. All swimmers that have completed all of the levels within the School of Fish swimming lessons are invited to join the Friday development squad, as well as other swimmers with good technique of all swimming strokes. The squad is aimed at children between the ages of 8 and 18 years old and takes place every Friday evening during term-time between 6.00pm-7.00pm.

The Friday development squad is run by experienced teachers and gives all swimmers the opportunity to improve on their swimming technique and fitness. The emphasis of the squad is very much non-competitive. We believe that not all children want to join competitive swimming clubs, but instead to continue swimming at a high level in a relaxed informal environment. As well as continuing stroke development, swimmers also learn some water sports including water polo.

Holiday intensive swimming courses

Every half-term and holiday we aim to run Holiday intensive swimming courses. These run along the same lines as our Saturday swimming lessons, but with a maximum of eight children per class. Likewise, for the younger groups we also have an assistant in the water, which brings the ratio of adults:children to 1:4.

Lessons last for 30-minutes each day and run Monday to Friday (except for those weeks when there is a Bank Holiday). Classes cost £5.50 per child per lesson for 30-minute lessons, payable in advance. We are also open for slightly extended Public swimming sessions during the holidays.

Individual lessons

Please note: We are operating these sessions differently to ensure they are run in a COVID-19 secure way. For further information please call the office on 01234 291777 or email us on

Individual lessons at Trinity Arts & Leisure swimming pool can be organised at a mutually convenient time during our normal opening hours. Anybody from the age of 3 years is able to have individual lessons.

The individual lessons are designed in such a way as to be completely flexible to the requirements of the individual having the lessons. The qualified and experienced teachers will help all swimmers to build on current skills, learn new skills or simply improve confidence in the water.

Lessons take place in reserved lanes where space permits, providing an excellent environment for the less confident swimmer. Lessons are run as 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 minute classes depending on the needs of the individual.

We also offer two-to-one lessons for children of similar abilities who want to have lessons together. Lessons can be paid for as individual lessons or by blocks of 10 lessons.
